App Planning & User Analysis

OVERVIEW

Natural and unanticipated disasters can devastate entire communities especially if people are unable to communicate in moments of crisis.

Daybreak app is peer-to-peer social media rapid response mobile system to help activate relief efforts and mobilize rescue operations during times of natural and unanticipated
disasters through social and mobile tools. I came up with the app concept for a weekend project challenge and collaborated with a team to refine the features. I built information architecture, wireframes, and prototype. I worked on UX/UI design, video animation, and presentation.

THE CHALLENGE

The increasing number natural disasters as well as the growing impact and severity of climate change, demonstrate the greater need for faster disaster intervention, mitigation solutions and more effective methods of activating relief efforts.

APP SOLUTION

Daybreak was conceptualized to help organize, mobilize, and connect people to respond better in a disaster. The app strives to lessen the disaster impact by helping activate relief efforts, improve disaster mitigation, preparedness, and recovery and increase personal safety. Whether you are a survivor, rescuer, government agency, logistic support, or volunteer, everyone has a role to play.
